After having a look at the storage consumption i saw that two partitions were filled up.
Recently one of my vcenter server appliance vcsa 5 5 installations was unable to proceed logins anymore.
But this appliance seems to be happy.

When you navigate to monitor disks you can find the proof that the disk is actually full.

To prevent full database partition monitor the vcenter server appliance database disk usage and change the vcenter server data retention settings.
To resolve this issue increase the disk size and extend the partition that s full on the df h output.
File system storage archive is low on storage space.
After the first outage the customer increased the size of the partition which is mounted to storage db.
Again because of a filled up database partition.
Increase the size of disk storage seat or decrease the data retention.
